Calibrate your AuRACLE PRO with the correct known reference before testing unfamiliar jewelry. Calibration tells the instrument how to interpret its probe; it does not establish the identity of the item you are about to test.
Prepare the instrument and reference
Identify the unit as the PRO and use its matching manual. Put it on a stable, dry work surface with enough room to keep reference material separate from customer items. Photograph or label your reference so it cannot be mixed into ordinary stock.
The GemOro manual specifies known 18K yellow gold. An unknown ring stamped 18K is not an adequate substitute merely because the marking looks convincing. Use reference material whose composition you have a sound reason to trust.
Follow the PRO calibration sequence
Connect the correct probe and power source, then switch on with the Power/Mode control. Prepare the reference surface as the manual directs. Remove excess probe-tip solution as instructed, press CAL and place the reference on the test plate. Touch the probe to the prepared area and wait for the confirmation of successful calibration.
Keep the full manufacturer procedure beside you. If the display does not confirm success, stop and check the reference, probe connection and preparation rather than repeatedly testing unknown jewelry.
Make your first checks useful
Begin with known samples, then record an unknown item’s identity, test location and displayed indication. Keep the item stable during contact. Avoid switching between parts of a piece without noting the change: a clasp and the main body may need separate investigation.
Surface preparation can permanently mark jewelry. Obtain the owner’s permission before filing. For collectible or historically valuable items, seek an appropriate specialist approach instead of automatically applying a routine used for scrap.
Build a repeatable routine
Use the same reference and record when you replace a probe. If results become inconsistent, return to the known sample before interpreting the unknown. Changing calibration until a customer’s item matches its hallmark defeats the purpose of the check.
Gold Kings recommends learning this sequence with ordinary known samples before relying on it at a busy counter. The PRO can organize a screening routine, but the operator still has to decide whether the tested area represents the whole object.
